Ever felt like you have a great book idea but just don't know where to start? I've been there, and so have many others. Not long ago, I watched two friends spend $40,000 on a publishing program that promised the world but delivered very little.
Their experiences, combined with my own as a PhD and author of 8 award-winning books, led me to create something different at Tehom Center Publishing: the "Subversive Sister Scribes" cohort.
We're not like those expensive programs that overpromise and underdeliver. And we're definitely not a traditional publishing house that might not get what you're trying to say. At "Subversive Sister Scribes," we're all about giving a voice to stories that really matter – stories like yours.

When does the cohort meet?
We’ll gather on Zoom on the first and third Thursday of the month from 12:00-1:30pm in February, March, and April.
Our first session is Thursday, February 1, 2024 and the last is April 18, 2024.
Plus, you’ll have access to a private Facebook Group where resources, encouragement, challenges, and networking are shared. And Dr. Yarber offers a syllabus with additional resources for each topic to every registrant.
Who Coaches this Cohort?
Dr. Angela Yarber
Dr. Angela Yarber is the Subversive Sister Scribes coach. An award-winning author of 8 books with nearly 20 years of teaching experience in undergraduate and graduate classrooms, Dr. Yarber is the founder of Tehom Center Publishing. Her coaching and leadership has been described as dynamic, brilliant, encouraging, infectious, and even life-changing. Her mission is to publish feminist, queer, and BIPOC writers because those are the voices our world needs most. Her work has been featured in Forbes, NPR, HuffPo, The Independent, Ms Magazine, and the television show Tiny House Nation.
Her creativity as an artist, inspiring teaching experience, background with empowering pastoral care, insight into the publishing world, and track record as an activist all combine to make her a coach who inspires, empowers, and galvanizes marginalized writers to share their brilliance with the world…and create a financially sustainable life in the process.
